Why Was It Held
To build practical skills in:
-Evaluating and using evidence in committee
oversight
-Asking the right questions of government
departments
-Identifying credible data for better decision-making
-Applying M&E tools in real parliamentary work
What Was It About?
-A 3-day hands-on training to strengthen
parliamentary
-oversight through monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
-Co-hosted with South Africa’s Department of
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME)
-the workshop promoted evidence-informed
governance through peer learning.
-Minister in the Presidency, Ms. Maropene
Ramokgopa, addressed participants, reinforcing the
role of M&E in strengthening democratic
accountability
What Came Out of It?
-92% said the workshop was highly relevant
-All participants committed to using what they
learned
-Participants shared country-specific strategies and
tools
-Drafted real questions to be used in upcoming
committee meetings
-Strengthened cross-country support networks
